Tokyo-bound flight returns back to Los Angeles, Chrissy Teigen tweets about her ‘flight to nowhere’

Pregnant model Chrissy Teigen and husband John Legend returned right back to where they started their journey after an eight-hour flight from Los Angeles. The 150 passengers including the two were the understandably unhappy fliers that were on a flight to Tokyo and were sadly headed back to where they started.

The model and TV personality tweeted about her ‘flight to nowhere’ on Tuesday night after the All Nippon Airways Flight 175 took a U-turn and returned back to Los Angeles. An aviation source said that the aircraft that had 226 passengers aboard, turned around after four hours into its flight to destination Tokyo, the reason being “due to an administrative mix-up.”

The crew discovered during the flight that an unauthorized passenger had incorrectly boarded the flight at Los Angeles. As per sources, the passenger had opted to return back to Los Angele even after the mix-up was resolved.

A statement said that during the flight, the crew informed the pilot about the error after which the pilot in command took the decision to return back to the originating airport. Based on the available information in flight, he made the right decision to return back to Los Angeles, the statement further said.

An investigation is being conducted on this matter to determine how the passenger boarded the flight. The airline tweeted an apology to all the passengers who were in the flight which said, “We take great pride providing exemplary customer service, and on this flight, we failed to do so.”

As per the airlines, the aircraft left from Los Angeles International Airport at 11:36 am on Tuesday and returned back to the airport at 7:33 am.

Teigen made the most of the onboard Wi-Fi and tweeted about her ‘flight to nowhere’ by writing, “A flying first for me: 4 hours into an 11-hour flight and we are turning around because we have a passenger who isn’t supposed to be on this plane,” Teigen wrote. “Why…why do we all gotta go back, I do not know.”
