The Teen Mom OG star Ryan Edwards was arrested for a petition to revoke stemming from a past simple possession of drug (heroin) charge on Tuesday, as per the online records.
Ryan was arrested just a day after the news broke that his wife Mackenzie Standifer Edwards is pregnant and the couple is expecting their first child together.
The 30-year-old Ryan was arrested at his home when cops executed a warrant against him for violating probation, TMZ reported. The TV star posted bail on Wednesday morning.
For those who aren’t aware, Ryan was checked into rehab in 2017 due to his drug issues. His wife Mackenzie alleged on an episode of the MTV reality show that her star hubby was spending a lot of his money on his substance abuse.
After visiting her husband in rehab, she told a producer of him, “He said that he was using three times a day.” She added, “Ten thousand dollars a week!”
Ryan and Mackenzie secretly wed before the Teen Mom OG star headed to rehab back in last May, the couple exchanged vows at a church ceremony back in November.
Mackenzie doubted her hubby’s sobriety and asked him if he was under the influence of Xanax as he started swerving while driving on the way to their elopement, which was filmed for season 6. In addition to Ryan’s situation, his eyes looked slightly shut and visibly dazed.
After the episode was filmed, Ryan decided to go rehab. He said in a statement at the time, “A little over 30 days ago, I made the decision to check myself into a rehabilitation facility. I am back home now doing well, and life could not be better.” He added, “Without the support of my wife and parents I would not have been able to do this. Thank you all for your well wishes.”
