Ben Rubinowitz, the attorney for Ruthie and her husband, said that the couple is suffering from pain which is nearly impossible to fathom.

Notably, the March incident happened when the 44 year-old-driver named Dorothy Bruns, ran a red light as she suffered from a seizure and struck her white Volvo into four adults and two children. Ruthie, who was seven months pregnant at the time, suffered mild injuries while her daughter Abigail Blumstein and one-year-old Joshua Lew were killed as they were crossing the street along with their mothers.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the two children died due to sustaining severe injuries at the scene.
Ruthie was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared that her unborn baby was unharmed after conducting preliminary checks. They thought that once Ruthie recovers from her injuries, the unborn baby would be okay. But now, the recent reports suggest that the injuries which Ruthie suffered in the March 5 accident have caused the death of her unborn child.
Ruthie’s unborn was named Sophia Rosemary Wong Blumenstein, as per the report from Daily News.
PEOPLE later reported that Bruns was charged with involuntary manslaughter and told the investigators that she suffered from a seizure on the day of the accident. As per reports, she took the risk of operating the vehicle even though her neurologist had warned her not to drive.
Rubinowitz said that Ruthie and her husband really appreciate the support their family and friends are extending but still request for privacy.
