The newlywed couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex, attended a garden party on Tuesday held at Buckingham Palace honouring Prince Charles 70th birthday. This marks the first official public appearance made by the married couple post their royal wedding on Saturday.
One could see Meghan in full royal mode at the party. She chose to wear a pale pink and taupe silk crepe Flavia dress from the fashion brand Goat and matched it with a custom-made Philip Treacy pink hat. She accessorised her look with a siren pump by Tamara Mellon. On the other hand, Harry wore a morning suit and paired it with a silk top hat.
Charles’ charities, patronages and military affiliations also attended the party. Moreover, the party at the vast palace garden also paid tribute to the first responders of the terrorist attack in May 2017 at the Ariana Grande’s Manchester concert. During Prince Harry’s warm speech, Meghan and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, were seen giggling and laughing when a bee attacked him, making him pause.
“That bee got me,” Harry said as the crowd giggled.
The palace had confirmed that the couple would not yet jet off for their honeymoon right after their nuptials. Instead, the two chose to celebrate with Prince Charles just three days after he threw an evening wedding reception for the newlywed said: “I do.”
Jason Knauf, the Kensington Palace spokesperson said, “The couple will be going on a honeymoon, but not straight away. They will have their first engagement as a married couple in the week after the wedding.”
If sources are to be believed then Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, are most probably planning to go to Africa for their honeymoon as the continent holds a special place in the lives of them both.
