Jenifer Lawrence recently informed that she doesn’t regret dropping out middle school. As per the statement was given by the Oscar-winning actress she left the school when she was just 14 years old and the reason behind that was he wanted to pursue her acting career. She informed this during a candid interview with Bill Whitaker. The fans of Jennifer Lawrence can watch the full interview which will be broadcast on 25th February, Sunday at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
Talking more on this, Lawrence informed that, she had struggled much during her school life and she never felt very smart. She stated “I know exactly what it would look like if somebody felt that way. That was a whole part of my brain that I didn’t even know existed. And I didn’t want to let it go.”
She further added “I dropped out of middle school. I don’t technically have a GED or a diploma. I am self-educated.” When Whitaker asked her if she is now regretting her decision, she stated “No. I really don’t. I wanted to forge my own path. I found what I wanted to do and I didn’t want anything getting in the way of it. Even friends, for many years, were not as important to me as my career.”
In 2004 she was devastated after some nude photos of her surfaced online. Commenting on this she stated, “I realized that there was a difference between consent and not and I showed up for the first day and I did it and I felt empowered.”
However, she is now enjoying her career and work. Her career is now in full bloom and she has been getting a good number of projects. Since the age of 20, she has been getting two films a year. At this age, she has been nominated for four Academic Award which made her the youngest actress ever nominated for this. Her acting in Silver Linings Playbook helped to win an Oscar Award in the category of the Best Actress. Now she will appear in Red Sparrow.
