Julianne Hough, the 29-year-old former dancer and actress war proud of her body confidence while she grew up. But she said that during her middle school something switched, and it even got worse when she began going to film sets.
For the Redbook February cover, Hough said, “I did a film where I was told I was fat every day, yet I was the skinniest I’d ever been.” She told the magazine about how her self-esteem went down after she was insulted for her weight repeatedly. But she also said that those feelings did not last for long. Later, the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ star learned how to pick herself up and now knows the tricks to feel good about her body when she feels low.
She further told the magazine that now when she gets self-conscious, she does something crazy and goofy to get that thing out of her head. She does something fun that keeps reminding her of the freedom she had when she was a kid. The actress even spoke about body image as she continues to work on her body in an attempt to change the shape for her upcoming flick ‘Bigger’ in which she is playing the role of a fitness pioneer Betty Weider.
She says, “Women in that era had bigger hips and bigger busts. I don’t naturally have that hourglass shape — I’m more elongated and square, to be honest.”
So coming back to her upcoming film, the actress is experimenting with her workout and diet regimen. One thing that Hough has not changed in her exercise routine is her commitment to it. To keep it fun, she keeps mixing her workouts as much as possible.
Julianne Hough, who starred on the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ show since the year 2005 has won the competition twice and married Brooks Laich, hockey player earlier this year.
