Looks like the people did not like Fergie’s patriotic spirit at this year’s NBA All-Star Game- a feat that she seemed to fall short of on Sunday night. The 42 year-old songstress was mocked for her unusual rendition of the US National Anthem that did not go down well with the A-list audience present at the game. In the video clips, one can spot Chance the Rapper, Joel Embiid, Draymond Green and Jimmy Kimmel not really feeling Fergie’s flow before the game.
The late-night host of the show, Jimmy Kimmel and others present in the stadium were seen snickering while Fergie began singing the National Anthem and even athletes were seen sharing a few laughs. To make the situation more worse, Beyonce was also present at the stadium along with daughter Blue Ivy Carter and mother Tina Knowles with her husband actor Richard Lawson. Beyonce had been criticised for singing over pre-recorded version of the National Anthem at the Barack Obama’s second inauguration.
One of the viewers, Isaac Harris, called it the ‘worst’ national anthem that he had ever heard and wrote “Literally dying at these reactions. Fergie with the worst rendition ever.”
Marrie Conner wrote on het Twitter handle, “Fox News reminds its audience that the murder of our beloved National Anthem by #Fergie happened under the FBI’s watch.”
Besides all the mockery surrounding Fergie, the NBA All-Star Game was an eventful night that saw not many people getting thrilled with comedian Kevin Hart’s strange opener that ran for more than 15 minutes. Khloe Kardashian took to her Twitter handle and wrote, “This All Star opening is confusing me. WTF is going on? Anyone?”
It was the first time the captains could pick their teams and so the ‘Team Lebron’ versus ‘Team Curry’ seemed to be a hit for a game.
