The celebration of Ellen DeGeneres 60th birthday continues as she had her wife Portia de Rossi on her daytime talk show ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ in the Thursday’s episode. The 45 years old actress Portia continues to bring her wife of nine years Ellen to tears by presenting her with the ‘best’ gift.
Portia explains, “It’s your 60th birthday, and this gift had to be special, and it had to represent who you are and what you care about. Not just now, but what you’ve always cared about.”
Portia then plays a video of her talking about Dian Fossey, Ellen’s hero and her dedication towards animals. She reveals, “So, for your birthday, Ellen, I am bringing you and your hero, Dian, together by building the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. Ellen, you will carry on Dian’s legacy by giving them a permanent home in Rwanda. Now, you will join Dian as a protector and champion of these amazing animals, the mountain gorillas. Happy birthday!”
Portia did not end her surprise there; she further said that she has also set up a foundation in her name called ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund.’ She said that Ellen had done amazing work for the elephants and she can continue and support whatever she wants to do now for the wildlife.
Ellen was completely blown over by the gift and with tearful eyes; she said that it is the best gift she has received. She feels really happy to have found someone who understands her because this birthday gift is the best gift that anybody could have given her.
