The two artists have been clashing over multiple issues over the past few years, that drew lots of attention and generated so much buzz, but now it seems like hopes of the two ever reuniting on a track have been squashed.

Lloyd took to Twitter and shared some news with her followers, he expressed his longtime love for hip-hop, followed by an announcement that he thinks it was time to “lay it down.” The self-proclaimed Punchline King also thanked the artists who came before him and all those who continue to love and support him.

The rapper tweeted, “I fell in love with Hip Hop over 25 years ago.” He wrote, “It was that thing I turned to during good times and bad… just wanna say thank you to the artist B4 me that inspired me… and send my appreciation to everyone that supported me till this day THANK YOU!!”

 

The rapper quickly followed up the tweet with a little more forward, saying, “With that being said… I think it’s time to lay it down.”

 

However, Lloyd hasn’t specified in his tweets about what he meant since then, which leading fans to believe that the rapper announcing his possible retirement. The curious fans are sharing their theories on Lloyd’s tweets. No comments from the rapper and his representative have been made yet.

Lloyd’s tweets quickly drew attention from fans, responding it the rapper was joking and whether his announcement would be followed by the release of the latest mixtape or if he was really retiring from his hip-hop career.

One fan wrote, “it’s too early for a April fools joke.” Another added, “I hope you mean lay it down in the booth been patiently waiting for more.”

One user wrote, “Lay it down as in your about to announce your next project??”

Lloyd gained popularity as a member of G-Unit, alongside Tony Yayo and 50 Cent.
