The 24-year-old pop star also revealed major secrets about her new album, including its title, Sweetener — and she also spilled the summer release date of her latest album, which is July 20.

For those who aren’t aware, Grande has already dropped the first single of the album — No Tears Left to Cry — she also performed the track on  Tuesday night for the very first time on network television. Both the tracks and the album marked as the first new music the singer has released since the Manchester bombing in May 2017, in which total 22 people lost their lives at one of the U.K. stops of Grande’s Dangerous Woman Tour.

Grande’s new album title seemingly inspired by the tragic event.

The Nickelodeon alum said, “It is called Sweetener because it’s kind of about bringing light to a situation or to someone’s life or somebody else who brings light to your life or sweetens the situation.”

Grande kept a low profile since wrapping her tour last year, she stayed away from interviews and spotlight, something that the talk show host acknowledged.

Fallon said, “I haven’t seen you since the tragic events that happened in Manchester. I know it’s tough for everybody, tough for fans, and tough for you. I know you haven’t done any interviews. I understand that.”
He added, “I just want to say thank you so much for coming on the show and for being strong, for entertaining, for showing up, for going back to Manchester and doing a benefit. I just think you’re so strong.”
The host then went on to read lines from the singer’s statement after the events to cheers from the audience, he said, “We won’t let hate win. Our response to this violence must be to come closer together, to help each other, to love more, to sing louder, and to live more kindly and generously than we did before.”
