American Youtube star Logan Paul apologizes after posting video Japan’s ‘suicide forest’.

The video featured Paul and his friends at Japan’s Aokighara forest at the base of Mt. Fuji, which is known for a high number of suicides that take place in the woods. In the video titled “We saw a dead body in the Japanese Suicide Forest”, Paul begins with an introduction by saying “this is not clickbait. This is the most real vlog I have ever posted on this channel.” After the group entered the forest, they venture around and later see a dead body of a suicide victim hanging from a tree. The video shows many close up shots of the body, though the victim’s face is blurred.

The video was viewed by over 6 million viewers in the 24 hours that it was uploaded. Later, Paul received a lot of criticism for sharing such images of the suicide victim. This is the latest backlash that a Youtube star has faced for posting inappropriate content. He apologized to his followers on Twitter and explained: “Let’s start with this—I’m sorry.”

He further said that he did not face such kind of criticism earlier and being a human being, he can make mistakes. He continued and said that he did not post the video for more views. He just wanted to make a positive ripple on the internet and not cause a monsoon of negativity. He just wanted to raise awareness for suicide and suicide prevention.

He said, “For the first time in my life I’m regretful to say I handled that power incorrectly. It won’t happen again.”
