Akon Praises African Artists Burna Boy, WizKid, and Davido for Bringing African Music to the World Stage

Akon recently appeared on Sway In The Morning to express his admiration for prominent African musicians like Davido, WizKid, and Burna Boy for their contributions in popularizing African music globally.

During his interview on Sway In The Morning, Akon commended his fellow African artists for their representation of the continent on an international scale.

Akon specifically highlighted Wizkid as a trailblazer for the Afrobeats genre, mentioning that he recognized Wizkid’s talent back in 2010 when he first met the artist who collaborated with Beyoncé on “Brown Skin Girl.”

In addition, Akon also lauded Burna Boy for his strategic career decisions and noted that he embodies the essence of Africa with his style and music.

Another artist who caught Akon’s attention is Davido, who, according to Akon, has proven himself through hard work and dedication in achieving success in recent years.

Wizkid recently treated fans with new music by releasing “Bad To Me” following his BET Awards win for Best Collaboration with Tems on the hit song “Essence.”

Burna Boy showcased his dynamic stage presence at the Made In America Festival recently, captivating audiences with his performance and choreography.

Davido collaborated with Lil Baby on the track “So Crazy,” unveiling vibrant visuals in the music video towards the end of 2020.

Notably, former Konvict artist, T-Pain, shed light on his past relationship with Akon by revealing that his brother used to perform at Akon’s shows as part of their collaboration.
