After being with each other for five years, Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff have parted ways. As per sources, the pair had an “amicable” breakup last month. The two began dating each other in the year 2012. The two had a great time in the first date. In an interview, Antonoff said that he told everything about himself to Dunham in the first date because when you like someone then you want them to know everything about you.
Later, the two decide to live together and that was when Antonoff moved in with Dunham in her Brooklyn home. Over a period of time, the two even collaborated with each other on different projects which include the Bleachers’ LP Gone Now, the one that features spoken-word contributions by Dunham.
Back in the month of June, Antonoff had said in an interview that his life with Dunham at home is pretty normal in terms of everyday normal life. He had then described their relationship as two people trying to support each other.
The duo made their last public appearance together at a Grammy’s pre-party which was held about a year ago. Later, late in the month of October, Antonoff had posted a photo on his Instagram handle of the two together. And in early November, Dunham had also joked in a Twitter post and said that she had overheard Antonoff planning a proposal to her with his sister which he even admitted later.
There were rumours that the former couple were engaged, even though the two had vowed that they would not get married until same-sex marriage became legal in the United States. And after the Supreme Court’s decision in June 2015 in favour of marriage equality, Dunham said that she felt a lot of pressure to just get married that day. Instead, the two wanted to wait for a moment where they felt excited about getting married. However, it is sad to see the two part ways after a strong relationship of over five years.
