The singer, songwriter and actor Mark Salling, 35 was found dead in the early hours of 30th January 2018, Tuesday. The Glee actor is said to have committed suicide, after few weeks of pleading guilty of holding child pornography.
The actor was caught hold by a thumb drive which then reported the possession of more than 50,000 images of child pornography on his computer. The authorities were to sentence him on 7th March, and the prosecutors were to ask for four to seven years of imprisonment of the actor.
A law enforcement official has confirmed that the actor’s corpse was found in the Tujunga neighbourhood of Los Angeles hanging in a riverbed area.
All the investigations on Salling’s death pointed it to be apparently a suicide, and the actor was declared dead at 9 a.m. on Tuesday as disclosed by the assistant chief investigator Ed Winter working for the Los Angeles County coroner. Before the actor attempted to end his life, a missing report of him had been received by the police.
Salling’s lawyer Michael J. Proctor has said that the actor was a loving and gentle person who was struggling for the reparation of the errors in the judgment. He also said that Salling’s family has requested some privacy and did not disclose the reason behind the death.
Salling started his career as an actor in the year 1996 with the American horror film Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering. His most received and appreciated role was that of Noah “Puck” Puckerman in the television series Glee. He has also released his two albums, Smoke Signals and Pipe Dreams in the year 2008 and 2010 respectively.
The actor and musician had also been accused of sexual assault by a woman back in January 2013 which he had denied and had later settled the issue with the woman outside of court.
